Takht Is Peroid Drama Film, Set In Mughal Era
Karan Johar announced a historical drama ‘Takht’ under his production house ‘Dharma Production’. Karan Johar will direct this film and film will go floor in 2019 and it might be released in 2020.
Karan Johar was last directed ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ in 2017 which was a box office hit. He will be back with Takht. Takht’s screenplay written by Somit Roy. Film stars Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Jhanvi Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Bhumi Pednekar.
Film’s other casting is not revealed yet. This film is kind of K3G of Mughal Era. Anil Kapoor will portray the role of Aurangzeb, as per sources. Now, Ranveer and Vicky revealed in an interview to Rajiv Masand that Ranveer Singh will play Dara Shikoh and Vicky Kaushal will portray the role of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
According to Karan Johar, Takht will be like his iconic film ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum’ but set in Mughal era. It’s more extreme and more betrayal. This is the story of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan’s two sons.

Kareena Kapoor Khan is expected to play the sister of Aurangzeb and Dara Shikoh. Alia Bhatt and Bhumi Pednekar will essay the role of Sikoh and Aurangzeb’s wives. Sikoh was the successor of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. Later, he was defeated by Aurangzeb who become the next Mughal emperor.
