There is no doubt that Sara Ali Khan is the new building actor of Bollywood. She was seen in two films last year, i.e ‘Kedarnath’ and ‘Simmba’. Sara is still the debutant who has a long road for success.

However, she won a lot of hearts by her acting skills. The Simmba actor is not only good at the professional front, but in terms of her personality too. She is known for her weight loss journey as she was suffering from PCOD (Polycystic Ovary Disorder) which made it difficult to lose weight.

She didn’t lose hope whatsoever. With all her confidence, she continued to arrive on this journey. Before her Bollywood career, she was a shy, overweight and studious kid studying at Columbia. The weight gain condition got even worse when Sara went abroad for studies. 

Her transformation has made a place in a lot of minds. The audience got to know about this weight loss when the actor appeared on an episode of Koffee With Karan 6. She carried herself with utmost confidence. Videos of her dancing on old Bollywood songs and acting on scenes while she stayed in America were revealed on the show.

In an interview, the ‘Kedarnath’ actor shared an incidence where her mother Amrita Singh failed to recognise her at the airport. This was a low turn for her, and made her feel extremely bad. She then took the vow of a life-changing transformation.

In fact, Sara refused to talk to her mother till the time she lost that weight. She was 96 kilos when she realized that she had to change herself. In the same year, Sara pushed herself to work hard and lose all the extra weight.

Sara Ali Khan wanted to feel healthy and empowered, emotionally, physically and mentally. A zero size figure was never her aim. Her mother Amrita Singh was a great inspiration for her, as she adviced Sara for the weight loss in order to pursue a career in acting.

She took guidance under Namrata Purohit who is a celebrity trainer and who has also trained stars like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Malaika Arora. The biggest step for Sara was to change her diet. From eating all the junk food like Pizzas and burgers to stumping down to salads and fruits. But, her determination to lose weight made her eat healthily.
