Indian Railways To Reach Andaman And Nicobar Islands Soon…
The Indian Railways is planning a train in Andaman and Nicobar for the very first time. Isn’t this huge? And will it really happen ‘soon’? Well, time will tell.
Andaman is one of the most beautiful places. It is just the perfect destination to go on a vacation. From different water sports to a variety of heavenly islands, the Andamans have a lot to offer to the tourists.
Another famous place to visit here is the Kaala Pani or Cellular Jail. This place has a close link to the Indian independence. It lies in Port Blair and the tourists love to come here to take whiff of the colonial era.
Havelock Island is one of the largest islands of the Andamans. It is something so beautiful that it should not be missed.
If you also have a dream of going on a holiday at this amazing place then here is a good news for you! An Indian Rail route will be connected to Andaman and Nicobar really soon.
It will be a 240 km railway line with bridges and stations along the coast. This will connect Port Blair with Diglipur becoming the first rail line in the country to get the archipelago on the rail map.
Currently Port Blair and Diglipur are linked by a 350-km bus service that takes over 14 hours and a ship that takes around 24 hours. There is no air connectivity. So, this actually is a big step.
The rail line will be built with a budget of Rs 2,413.68 crore. Moreover, this will help in increasing the tourism of the place.
