Prime Minister Narendra Modi urges Bollywood stars to help increase voter participation in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. PM Modi took to Twitter and urged Karan Johar, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and others to increase voter participation.

Akshay Kumar, AR Rahman and Karan Johar, responded to Prime Minister’s tweet minutes after he posted it.

Akshay Kumar tweeted said, “Well said @narendramodi ji. The true hallmark of a democracy lies in people’s participation in the electoral process. Voting has to be a superhit prem katha between our nation and its voters.”

Karan Johar also tweeted saying, “Honourable Prime Minister @narendramodi we as a fraternity are dedicated to the cause of creating high voter awareness and will make sure every endeavour is made to communicate the power of voting for a solid and Democratic INDIA! Jai Hind!”

Aamir Khan also replied to PM Modi’s tweet by saying, “Absolutely right sir, Hon PM. Let us all engage as citizens of the biggest democracy in the world. Let us fulfill our responsibility, and avail of our right to get our voice heard. Vote!”

Amitabh Bachchan also replied on PM Modi’s request and wrote, “900 million voters, 543 winners. Every vote is for supremacy of Constitution. Constitution is Holy book of democracy. About 600 million voters of 900 m, less than 35 yrs. Young ask questions about tomorrow not yesterday ! VOTE FOR TOMORROW !”

Earlier, Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar, Rohit Shetty, Alia Bhatt, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, and other stars met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in January to discuss how the entertainment industry can contribute to nation building.
